Introduction
At Anubis, we are committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share information when you use our Discord bot and website. Our goal is to minimize the data we collect while maximizing the utility of the Service.
This policy applies to all users of Anubis. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, you must stop using Anubis immediately.
Data We Process
We categorize the information we process into four primary streams:
A. Discord Identity
We store unique Discord Identifiers (IDs) for Users, Guilds, and Channels. This includes your User ID, Server ID, and Role IDs. We do not store your real name, email, or IP address through the Discord Bot itself, those are handled by Discord.
B. Content Data
Information you explicitly provide: custom command names, auto-responder text, configuration settings and welcome messages. This data is stored permanently to ensure your server settings persist.
C. Economy & XP
Levels, experience points, virtual currency balances, inventory items, and transaction logs. This data is essential for the functionality of our engagement systems.
D. Transient Logs
Message content is processed in volatile memory for real-time features like automod and translation. Transient data is deleted immediately after processing unless a server administrator has enabled persistent logging.
Purpose of Processing
We use the data we collect for several specific purposes:
- To provide the core functionality of the Bot (e.g., executing commands).
- To maintain server specific configurations and moderation settings.
- To track user progression in the economy and leveling systems.
- To protect our users and servers from malicious actors, spam, and abuse.
Legal Basis for Processing
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we process your data based on:
Contractual Necessity
Processing is necessary to provide the Service you requested by adding the bot to your server or interacting with its features.
Legitimate Interests
Processing is necessary for our legitimate interests, such as ensuring the security of our services and improving bot performance.
Consent
In specific cases, such as when you link a third-party account, we process data based on your explicit consent.

We adhere to a strict "minimal retention" philosophy:

User Rights & Data Control
No matter your location, we believe you should have control over your data. You have the following rights:
- Right to Access: You can request a copy of the data we have stored for your User ID.
- Right to Deletion: You can request that we purge all your user data from our databases.
- Right to Rectification: You can correct inaccurate data (though most can be fixed via commands).
Requesting Deletion:
To exercise your right to be forgotten, please join our Support Server and open a "Data Request" ticket. For server-wide data, simply kicking the bot will trigger an automatic purge of configurations within 30 days.
Children's Privacy
Anubis does not knowingly target or collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 is using our bot, please contact us so we can terminate their access and delete their data.
Policy Updates & Revision Protocol
The digital landscape, Discord API specifications, and global privacy regulations are in a constant state of evolution. To ensure Anubis remains at the forefront of user protection and legal compliance, we reserve the right to modify, update, or completely overhaul this Privacy Policy at any time.
Notification of Material Changes
In the event of "Material Changes" defined as updates that significantly alter how we collect, store, or share your personally identifiable information, we will take proactive steps to ensure you are informed:
- Direct Announcement in the #updates channel of the official Anubis Support Server.
- Revision date update at the header of this document.
Non-Material Adjustments
Minor changes, such as grammatical corrections, formatting updates, or the addition of clarifying examples that do not change the underlying data handling practices, may be implemented without prior notice.
User Responsibility
Users are encouraged to periodically review this page to stay informed about how we are protecting the personal information we collect. Your continued use of Anubis service after any modification constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
If a change occurs, the "Effective Date" listed at the top of this page will be updated. Should you disagree with any future changes, your sole remedy is to cease use of the Bot and request a data purge via the procedures outlined in Section 08.
